Description
In Ruud Gullit's first season in charge, the Blues reacquainted themselves with the country's most prestigious competition after 27 years of waiting. It was a day that history was created. Ruud Gullit himself became the first foreign coach to win a domestic honour and Roberto Di Matteo scored Wembley's fastest ever FA Cup final goal after only 43 seconds.

Inheriting the seeds of a promising side from former manager Glen Hoddle, Gullit soon stamped his own individuality onto the team with an influx of foreign stars. In came Gianfranco Zola, Roberto Di Matteo, Frank Leboeuf and Gianluca Vialli, and the team blossomed into one of the Premiership's most stylish sides competing for one of the major honours.

The final itself couldn't have started any better for the Blues. Before a minute had even passed, Roberto Di Matteo picked up the ball in the centre of the park, and with the defence backing off, he launched a blistering attack on the Middlesbrough goal. Carrying the ball from inside his own half, the Italian international unleashed a venomous shot a fully thirty yards from goal, which arced over the hapless Roberts and nestled in the Wembley net.

With the Chelsea fans in great voice, Wembley was a sea of Blue. But the game had to wait until the final ten minutes for any change to the score line, when Eddie Newton, who had started the move, was on hand to steer home Zola's flick from close range. The goal signalled a mass of euphoric celebrations around the stadium and Dennis Wise made the much-coveted walk up the famous Wembley steps to collect the trophy for the second time in Chelsea's history.

Now you can relive the day that FA Cup history was created.

Important Information on PAL Region 0 DVD compatibility.
PAL Region 0 is now the most popular format sold by Green Umbrella. It ignores the original Region Coding designed for DVDs. If you own a multi-region DVD player (i.e. one which will play any Region of DVD) AND a television which can receive the PAL signal then this DVD will function correctly.

To the best of our knowledge (although we accept no responsibility for the accuracy of this information, and would thoroughly recommend that if you are in any doubt you consult your electrical retailer for advice before making a purchase) this PAL Region 0 DVD is designed to function in the following PAL TV countries:

Abu Dhabi, Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Argentina, Ascension Island, Australia, Austria, Azores, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Botswana, Brunei, Cameroon, Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Cayman Islands, China (Peoples Republic), Christmas Island, Cook Island, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dubai, Easter Island, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Falkland Islands, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Gambia, Gaza & West Bank, Germany, Ghana, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Holland, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macao, Macedonia, Madeira, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Montenegro, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norfolk Island, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Sardinia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Swaziland, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Tanzania, Thailand, Tonga, Tristian Da Cunah, Turkey, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, UNITED KINGDOM, Vanuatu, Vatican City State, Yemen, Yugoslavia, Zambia, Zanzibar, and Zimbabwe.

NB. This DVD will NOT work in NTSC TV regions (such as United States & Canada) unless your DVD player can play Region 0 DVD's (ie it is multi-region) AND your TV can receive the PAL signal. If you are in any doubt please consult your electrical retailer before making a purchase.

However, although we offer no guarantees, some of our customers in USA and Canada have successfully played these DVD's on their PC (not TV) equipment. Again, if you are in any doubt please consult your electrical retailer before making a purchase.
