- Paul Casey's hole in one
- All the key moments
Across three compelling days in September 2006 Europe's elite went head-to-head with America's all stars at the K Club in Dublin. With the European team striving for an unprecedented third consecutive victory and the US, led by world No. 1 Tiger Woods, eager to avenge their record defeat in 2004, the 36th Ryder Cup was set to become one of the greatest golfing events of all time.
After the first day Europe led USA by 5 - 3. By the end of the second day Europe had extended their lead to 10 - 6, needing just four-and-a-half points to win. So, it was down to the singles on the final day...
As so often on Ryder Cup Sunday in recent times, the end came suddenly as Europe claimed the points they needed within a golden 15-minute spell. England's David Howell won four successive holes - all with birdies - to close out a 5 and 4 victory over rookie Brett Wetterich and when Chad Campbell found the water with his second at the 17th against Luke Donald, the crowd held its collective breath. The world number nine chipped his third shot to six feet and calmly rolled in the putt - 14 points and the Ryder Cup was staying in Europe.
Immediately attention turned to who would hole the winning putt, and the popular choice was obviously Darren Clarke. But the Ulsterman was beaten to that honour by Swede Henrik Stenson, who holed a six-footer at the 14th for a 4 and 3 victory over Vaughn Taylor. Europe had won all five sessions for the first ever time.
That sparked the inevitable jubilant and highly emotional scenes as Dublin prepared for the party that it had been promising for the last two years.
So now sit back and enjoy all the highlights and special moments over and over again on this official DVD review. Capturing the intensity, rivalry an emotion of this magnificent sporting occasion, this programme runs for over two hours and features highlights of all the thrilling decisive - unmissable viewing for all European golf fans.
