Description
The official DVD review of the 2002/2003 season, and bonus DVD 'The Premiership Years'.
Manchester United are champions of English football once again. The Premiership trophy has returned to Old Trafford following an eighth Championship in eleven years.
The start to United's season was dominated by injuries and results were mixed, but by December United's good form in the Champions' League was being matched in the Premiership and soon United had proven their class by beating Newcastle United, Liverpool and Arsenal. The new year saw United reaching the Worthington Cup Final and thrashing West Ham 6-0 in the FA Cup. Their passage through the second phase of the Champions League included home and away victories over Juventus. In the Premiership they were now unstoppable and did not lose again all season.
However, with three months to go United were still 8 points behind Arsenal. But Sir Alex Ferguson was not going to be defeated and his powers of motivation drove his team forward, pushing aside every challenge encountered. Not even the thrilling, unlucky defeat by Real Madrid in the Champions' League could spoil United's focus in the Premiership. The title was heading back to Old Trafford and Ferguson knew it. The fight back in the league was complete on the penultimate weekend of the season. United defeated Charlton Athletic emphatically at home while Arsenal lost, meaning United were champions again!
This celebratory DVD is the complete souvenir of a remarkable season by a remarkable team.
