Description
The Official film of the 1972 Open.

One of the most dramatic Opens in recent years. Nicklaus comes to Muirfield with the chance of becoming the first man to complete the modern grand slam: the world's four Major Championships in one year. Already he has won the US Open and Masters - can he take the Open and keep his chance alive until the USPGA Championship later in the year?

This programme graphically captures Nicklaus's spirited challenge; even more so the tremendous duel between Lee Trevino and Tony Jacklin - with Trevino brazenly chipping into the hole from off the green en route to his second successive Open. Jacklin was never the same again as a player, but the Ryder Cup captaincy is another story!

Commentary from the late, great Henry Longhurst.
