Relive Europe's incredible 1987 Johnnie Walker Ryder Cup triumph - the first ever victory in America.
To win the Ryder Cup for the second time in two years, Europe's golfers, captained by Tony Jacklin, faced the might of American golf on its own soil under the direction of the legendary Jack Nicklaus. Played at Muirfield Village Golf Club, Ohio, in front of a huge home crowd, Europe went into the final day with a comfortable lead of 10.5 - 5.5. But the contest came to an enthralling climax as Europe staved off a spirited American comeback to clinch an historic win 15 - 13.
An outstanding European team performance, featuring in particular the inimitable Seve Ballesteros, made Sunday 27th September 1987 one of the most memorable days in the history of European golf.
Introduced by Harry Carpenter, with television presentation by ABC, America.
