Description
The Official DVD film of the 1987 Open.
A championship to remember! Played at Muirfield - one of the greatest, and toughest, tests in golf - in weather conditions so harsh and demanding that even the finest players were forced to struggle.
Among the top names who figured prominently were Bernhard Langer, Rodger Davis, Tom Watson, Payne Stewart and David Frost. But at the death, it came down to a tense struggle between two men - England's Nick Faldo and the young American Paul Azinger.
Faldo's indomitable, and ultimately decisive, final round was a popular and patriotic climax to an enthralling contest and gave him his first Open victory.
Narrator Bill Torrance, commentator Peter Alliss.
